Welcome Message from
- The Director, ACU CPFP

On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the entire Management, I welcome you all to Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo. The Pre-degree and Foundation Programmes have been established by the University in response to the challenges of Students who have deficiencies in O’ Level / UTME qualifications, thus are unable to secure direct admission into the University.

This programme, therefore, is to offer students who are deficient in i) Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), and ii) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) an opportunity to remedy their deficiencies within nine (9) months, and become qualified for the basic requirement for admission into any degree programme of their choice in the University.

It would help the University in attracting adequate number of students for the 100 and 200 levels, whose quality the university can guarantee since they are to pass through training done by the University. This programme will eventually become self-sustaining and generate funds for the University.

The programme will be taught by highly experienced academic staff in the University and at the end of the exercise, successful students for Pre-Degree and Foundation Programme will be admitted into 100 and 200 levels respectively after meeting the different requirements for the particular programme of the regular programmes.  Candidates on these programmes can have access to good lecture rooms, Hostel accommodation, well-equipped Library, community service, etc., during their stay on the campus.

Therefore, I strongly encourage you when you come for this programme to cooperate with University and other officials of the Programme in order to share from their wealth of experience. Diligence and hard work should be your watchword for you to come out successful in the Programme, as placement into the undergraduate programmes of the University is not automatic; it depends on your performance at the end of the Programmes. Finally, I strongly appeal to you to avail yourself of this opportunity to remedy your qualification deficiencies and gain admission into your choice of programme. Above all, put God first in all your endeavour during your stay in ACU.

Please visit our website (www.acu.edu.ng) for other relevant information concerning the programme. Once again, I welcome you all, and I sincerely wish you sound academic success.
